About Us

The Franklin County Task Force on Aging (FCTFA) was founded in 2000. The FCTFA members are professionals who are well informed and work with different organizations to strengthen the human services organization who serve senior citizens, in order to improve the quality of life for the elderly in the Franklin County area by:

  1. Uniting persons, organizations, and businesses who are interested and involved in the local human service sector and providing services to senior citizens.
  2. Maintaining and improving the human services which are made available to local senior citizens.
  3. Providing programs to facilitate the professional growth of the membership.

FCTFA is a voluntary membership organization that addresses the increasing aging population and related aging issues. "We must all get serious and prepare for the future of the aging population --- our future", stated founding president, Naomi Compton. The Franklin County Task Force on Aging has determined that they will provide the following:

  1. A professional liaison and an educational forum for professionals dealing with the aging.
  2. A setting to educate all members about current geriatric services and corresponding guidelines.
  3. The opportunity to create professional liaisons that create a better environment for the aging population.
