The meeting was called to order at 3:07pm by FCTFA President Carie Siegfried.
Officer Reports:
President, Carie Siegfried:
*Reviewed agenda - thanked host agency; new member introductions; explained new addition to meetings - at each meeting there will be a table for Taskforce-relevant information (ie: minutes, agenda, presentation handouts, dues forms, etc.) but this table is not for event flyers, announcements, etc as those can be shared during the meeting.
Vice President, Nicole Cha:
*Encouraged members to contact her with topic ideas and/or speakers for future meetings.
*Announced next month's meeting location and asked that members come prepared for a "working meeting" - ready to share their ideas to help formulate the direction the Taskforce would like to move in for the rest of this year.
Treasurer, Monica Mayer:
*Current account balance $1,935.68. Current membership stands at 35. Recent checks were written for annual payments for PO Box and web site.
*Membership dues forms can be picked up at meetings or printed from the web site and mailed with a check to the PO Box (details on the application) or turned in at the meeting.
Secretary, Bobbi Reed:
*Reiterated FCTFA has its own e-mail address and asked members to follow up with a phone call to her if the information sent is time sensitive as the FCTFA e-mail address is not checked frequently/regularly.
*Past out previous meeting minutes.
Old Business:
*Nick Turkas from the Arthritis Foundation spoke about the upcoming 2009 Arthritis Walk on May 3rd. FCTFA members are forming a team - contact Carie Siegfried if interested in participating. Five members have already joined the team.
*Legislative committee report: Becky Hayward, Chair, presented information regarding National Issues and the Federal Stimulus Package. She also reported that June 12th is the designated date for digital T.V. conversion. Lastly, there is a new national "in case of emergencies" data bank - more information can be found at www.emergencycontactinfo.org.
