Thank you for your support of Be A Santa To A Senior. We are getting started!
Yesterday at the Emerald Crossing meeting we were able to explain how the program works.
1. We will place decorated trees, a collection box and a poster explaining BASTAS (Be A Santa To A Senior) in about 12 locations throughout the city.
2. Ornaments with needful seniors' first names and their gift wishes will be placed on the trees.
3. Customers will take an ornament, purchase a gift, and return it with the ornament attached to the participating store.
4. Volunteers will wrap the gifts and make certain they get back to the recipient.
We at Home Instead Senior Care have identified locations for the trees and gathered the names of recipients. Now we need you to help monitor the process. We thank the five people who signed up at the meeting and are now hoping more of you will volunteer.
Each location requires that the volunteer set up a tree, collection box and poster and then monitor the tree by visiting once or twice a week to see how the gift giving is going. The volunteer will have additional ornaments to replace the ones that have been taken. We will get all of the materials to you. (If you have a tree and could create a collection box it will help us very much!) We are hoping you can store the gifts or bring them to one of our offices until we wrap and deliver them.
You will need to put the trees up on November 2 and take them down on December 7th.
You can learn more about BASTAS by going to the site www.beasantatoasenior.com. Check out the short video!
The locations that still need volunteers are:
CVS in
Grandview
Upper Arlington at Tremont and Northwest
Gahanna
Reynoldsburg
Canal Winchester
New Albany
West Broad St
Let us know which one you can take and also give us your email address and phone number so we can reach you easily. Please call if you have questions.
We need to hear from you as soon as possible.
Thank you for helping our seniors in need.
