The meeting was called to order at 3:10pm by FCTFA Vice President, Nicole Cha.

*Absent but sent agenda to Treasurer. VP led meeting.
Vice President, Nicole Cha:
*Announced changes in meeting locations for the rest of this calendar year. Next month's location is TBD and December's location was changed to accommodate a holiday party. The original Dec. speaker and location were rescheduled for next year. For additional meeting details, go to the 'Meetings' tab on the web site and click on "Upcoming Meetings."
Treasurer, Monica Mayer:
*Current account balance is $2288.68 as of August 31st. A Sept. deposit brings the total to $2338.68. Before the end of the calendar year, 2 checks will be written to 2 local senior-serving organizations based on an approved vote at last month's meeting. LifeCare Alliance and Home Instead's "Be A Santa To A Senior" Program will each receive $200.00. This money will be used to help seniors in need.
*Membership dues forms can be picked up at meetings or printed from the web site and mailed with a check to the PO Box (details on the application) or turned in at the meeting. The group was reminded of the new fee structure - 1st mtg is free, subsequent meetings are $5/mtg, dues paid in Nov/Dec are good for the following year. Membership dues can be paid at any time but are not pro-rated. Sign-in sheet was passed around.

*Legislative: reported on Medicare Advantage Plans for 2010 - see 'home' page of web site for details.

*Web site: Chairperson is aware the Sept. meeting minutes are missing and will work to get them posted ASAP. A web site committee meeting was scheduled for immediately following the Taskforce meeting.
*Advocacy/Philanthropy: The project for the rest of this year will be assisting with the Be A Santa To A Senior program sponsored by Home Instead. There are multiple ways to help out so everyone was encouraged to get involved! See the 'home' page of this web site for details.

*Elections will take place in December. At the Nov. meeting, members will be asked for nominations. Nominees will then be called to verify they are willing to accept the position before being placed on the ballot. A ballot will be finalized and ready for a vote at the December meeting. Only MEMBERS can vote!
