The Advocacy and Philanthropy Committee needs your help! To improve the lives of seniors in Franklin County, the Franklin County Taskforce on Aging has joined forces with LifeCare Alliance to identify and work to meet the needs of Franklin County senior citizens. All year long the Taskforce will be collecting SOCKS and thru July, the Taskforce will be collecting CLEANING SUPPLIES (ie: buckets, sponges, paper towels, surface cleaners, etc.) to distribute to seniors in our community. Legislative Committee Report for April 2009
A recent press release from the Social Security Administration:
Vice President Joe Biden and Michael J. Astrue, Commissioner of Social Security, announced that the federal government will send out $250 economic recovery payments to people who receive Social Security and Supplemental Social Security (SSI) benefits beginning in early May 2009 and continuing throughout the month. No action is required to get the payment, which will be sent separately from the person's regular monthly payment.
